PANJIM: CMM Group Chairman and Managing Director Dean Menezes passed away after a brief illness at the CMM Memorial Hospital, Altinho, on Monday evening. He was 59.

Dean was suffering from illness for a year. He was also Honorary Consul for Germany in Goa and was on the governing council of Holy Cross Indo-German Techno Centre, Marna-Siolim. He was also the vice president of Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), Panjim.

Dean completed his studies with a Bachelor’s in Commerce from Mumbai University and his Chartered Accountancy from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. He worked with AF Ferguson & Co (then an associate of KPMG) and as a Management Consultant and with ANZ Grindlays Bank as an Investment Banker for six years.

He was involved with the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and was the Chairman of the Goa Council for the year 2008-09 and as an elected member of the Western Regional Council from 2014 to 2016 and as member of the Managing Committee of the Goa Chamber of Commerce (GCCI) and was a Society Member and Board Member of the Goa Institute of Management (GIM).

He is survived by sons Raul Menezes and Ian Menezes and mother Cecilia Menezes.
