MARGAO: The Colva police booked 19-year-old Rajesh Chavan for allegedly raping a minor girl from Salcete. The victim in her complaint alleged that the accused developed friendship and later sexually abused her.
Police stated that the victim was residing in an orphanage while her parents were in Karnataka.
The victim was admitted at the South Goa District Hospital and later shifted to Goa Medical College (GMC) Bambolim.
The accused has been booked under Section 376 of IPC and Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO). Police said that they are on the look out for the alleged accused who is on the run and wireless messages have been sent to all over Goa and other neighbouring States. PSI Varshada Naik Dessai is investigating the case.
