HC asks petitioners to submit suggestions to AG over Smart City deficiencies

PANJIM: The High Court of Bombay at Goa has asked the petitioners to submit their suggestions to the Advocate General Devidas Pangam regarding the deficiencies in the ongoing Smart City works in Panjim.

Hearing two public interest litigation (PIL) writ petitions filed by Piyush Panchal and two others and Christus Cecilio Lopes and two others, counsel for the petitioners in both the petitions to submit their suggestions to the Advocate General regarding the deficiencies in the ongoing Smart City works.

The matter was adjourned to a later date as per the request of the Advocate General.

Earlier, the High Court had adjourned the matter to June 18, since the State government was in the process of filing an application for extension of time for complying with the directions of the Court.

The Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) chief executive officer (CEO) and managing director Sanjit Rodrigues in his compliance report had stated that the work was on track to make road carriageway functional by May 31, at all locations where work has been taken up.
